What to get done in a 30-day marketing software trial
October 3, 2026 · Ranqly AI
A free trial only helps if you finish it knowing whether the product is worth paying for. Here is a week-by-week plan for a 30-day trial of marketing software. It's written around Ranqly, but most of it applies to any tool you're comparing.
Days 1–2: set it up properly
- Connect your accounts. In Ranqly that's Settings → Connect social accounts. Start with Google Business Profile. Add Facebook and Instagram if you use them, and ask support if a connection needs help.
- Set the areas you actually serve. Use the ZIP codes or cities where your trucks go, not the whole metro.
- Tell it the facts that are true about your business. Under Settings → Content Profile, list your real prices, offers, guarantees and what makes you different. Posts can only state what you've put here. A draft that mentions a price, statistic or customer story Ranqly can't find in your profile is held for you to check instead of publishing.
- Keep "Require approval" on. For the first week, read every post before it goes out.
- Write down your starting numbers. Note your Google Business Profile calls and website clicks for the previous 28 days, plus how many calls and booked jobs you logged. Without a baseline, day 30 is guesswork.
Week 1: read everything it writes
Approve, edit or reject each draft. Keep a short note of what you changed and why: wrong service, wrong tone, a claim that isn't true. If the same fix keeps coming up, add the missing fact to your Content Profile and check whether the next drafts improve.
Week 2: decide how much to trust it
If most drafts need no edits, consider letting it publish on schedule. If you're still rewriting most of them, that is useful information too. Software you have to babysit costs you time, not just money.
Day 21: compare against your baseline
Pull the same numbers you wrote down on day one. Be fair to small numbers: three weeks is short, local demand moves with the weather, and a single good or bad week can swing the totals. You're looking for direction and for whether the work is getting done without you, not a guaranteed result.
Before day 30: make the call
- Did posts go out consistently without you having to remember?
- Were they accurate, and did your edits drop over time?
- Did calls or website clicks from your profile hold up or improve against your baseline?
- Is the time you save worth the monthly price?
